Sailorman, the rear of the barrel hood fits right up against the slide breech. It's pretty tight in that direction. It's the side-to-side fit at the rear of the barrel that seems pretty loose.

I have the barrel lug file that came with my Kart EZ fit kit if metal needs to be removed from the lower/side areas. Just wnted one that was at least as wide as the top of the hood so I could be more certain to remove metal evenly.
